Habitat for Humanity Texas offers advocacy support to member affiliates to help them fulfill their missions.
Housing Need in Texas.
Affordable housing is not available to a large number of Texans. Over 3 million individuals in Texas live below the poverty level, while 1.5 million children that live in poverty live in families headed by a worker. Forty-one percent of all Texas households are considered low-income and most experience excessive housing cost burdens.
Habitat affiliates work to provide decent, affordable shelter.
Habitat for Humanity believes that every man, woman and child in Texas should have a safe and affordable place to live. While building homes is central to our mission, it's only one piece of the puzzle.
