Habitat for Humanity® Texas, chartered in May 2005 as a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization, is a collaborative effort of local affiliates and state leaders that functions as a state support organization. Habitat for Humanity® Texas is based in Austin, the State Capital of Texas.

Habitat for Humanity® Texas is an ecumenical Christian organization which serves, supports and advocates for Habitat affiliates in Texas.

Governed by a Board of Directors, Habitat for Humanity® Texas has three primary means of achieving it's mission:

• Affiliate Services and Relationships
• Awareness, Advocacy and Alliances
• Assistance with Fund Development for Affiliates

With 87 member affiliates in 2009, Habitat for Humanity® Texas has a proud legacy of assistance through communication tools which include: NewsFlash alerts; periodic Habitat for Humanity® Texas email newsletters; and the highly successful "Build More Campaign" sponsored by Wachovia Bank.
